Raramen is one of the many places to eat on the Kingsway in Glen Waverley. I dragged J in there for much needed sustenance one Saturday after a morning of car shopping.
This was my second lunch at Raramen and I was keen to try it again.
Raramen is on two floors and the upstairs area is definitely brighter and more spacious. We were sitting downstairs this time and it was a bit squishy and there wasn’t a lot of room on the table for our dishes.
You help yourself to flasks of tea and slushies(!)
We both started with a soup.
J had the hot and sour soup, no idea what was in it, but it was really tasty!
I had the chicken soup, a very large bowl, delicately flavoured, but with a bit of oil on top. But for $2 you really can’t complain.
I had to order the spring onion pancake, as I loved it last time. Hot, fresh and flavoursome, and good for dipping in soup! J thought it was a bit greasy though.
Dumpling time!
I had the beef dumplings. Nice and hot and not too much soup in them. J had the pork and prawn dumplings.
We did have to ask a waitress for bowls so we could dip our dumplings in soy or chilli.
The total bill was $22.60, a good cheap filling lunch.
Raramen is not fancy but the food is fresh and tasty, cheap and comes out fast.
