Maldini is an Italian cafe and restaurant in Hobart’s Salamanca. J and I had our last meal in Hobart there with The Mole, iS, The Barrister and The Barrister’s Fiancee.
I was too busy catching up with everyone to take any pictures of the restaurant but we were seated in the back corner and with the wooden floors it was quite nosiy.
J and I both had the spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino with chilli pancetta and garlic crumbs.

Good flavours and I liked the use of green chillies instead of red. If you order this dish make sure you give it a good mix before you start eating it. All the oil is on the bottom and the breadcrumbs on top made that portion dry so you need to mix everything up to get the balance right.
The Mole, The Barrister and The Barrister’s Fiancee all had the housemade spinach and ricotta gnocchi with a tomato and basil sauce.

iS had the risotto alla pescatore (mussels, clams, prawns, fish and calamari in a napoletana sauce). No pic of this one.
We didn’t discuss the food but everyone cleaned their plates so it must have been good!
All our serves were entree size, which was more than enough for us all.

The Mole may have been suffering from a hangover so any food was going to be eaten. It was quite tasty though.
Oh that gnocchi looks and sounds delicious!
