How would you feel if you received a text message from a friend that said “We’re getting naked?” Scared? Excited? Confused? Luckily for me, when KB1 received that exact message from me, she knew what I was referring too.
Naked for Satan is a Basque inspired tapas bar specialising in pintxos (pronounced pinchos) and their house infused vodka. There is a great story behind the name of the bar. I am not going to repeat it in this post, but if you are interested you can read it here.
KB2 and I had just arrived and got a table and my message was to let KB1 know that we were there.
We sat in the downstairs area, it was quieter and also closer to the food!

There is a lot of nudity at Naked for Satan so do not continue reading this post if you are easily offended. There are naked people on the menus, the walls and the plates.
For drinks I started with a cocktail that used a watermelon infused vodka. It went down rather too well.
The pintxos are pieces of bread topped with a variety of goodies. There was quite a lot of seafood, some meat ones and a decent selection of vegetarian options as well. They are held together with toothpicks and you keep the toothpicks in a plastic cup and when you are finished you take the cup to the counter and the staff charge you per toothpick, ie, per pintxos. On the night we visited the pintxos were $1 each.
Hot pintxos are brought around on trays by wait staff, starting at 6:30pm. We had sausages, croquettes, meatballs and schnitzel amongst others. We would have liked the hot food to come around more often but the good thing was that once the guy who was serving realised KB1 was vegetarian he came to us first if he had a tray with vegetarian pintxos on it.
The food was tasty but isn’t going to blow you away, but would you expect that for the price?
There were two sweet offerings but I wouldn’t recommend them.
We enjoyed our cheap and yummy dinner and liked the different concept. I would definitely recommend Naked for Satan for a casual bite to eat.
