Readers, I had a wardrobe malfunction.
J and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary at the end of November (Yay for us!). We usually go away somewhere and/or have a nice dinner (except two years ago where we had pizza at our local because we were being evicted* from our rental place and needed to save money!).

For our last two nights in Auckland J and I stayed at the Stamford Plaza on Albert street in the city.
I was lucky enough to be selected by my boss to go to a technical writing conference in Auckland at the end of October. As J has clients in NZ he was able to join me. We flew over on the Wednesday and I attended the conference Thursday and Friday while J worked and then we had another two nights to have a look around before flying home on the Sunday.
Last year Virgin offered Qantas frequent flyers the chance to status match. Whatever status you were with Qantas, Virgin would automatically give you the same status in their Velocity scheme. This made J a platinum member with both airlines.
