After immigration etc at LAX myself, TheBoss and Jill headed over to the Delta terminal for our flight down to San Diego.
The San Diego airport is super close to the city so it was only a quick taxi ride to our hotel, the Residence Inn Marriott on 6th street in the Gaslamp Quarter.
We set off for San Francisco mid-morning so as to avoid the rush hour traffic. This plan worked well, until we got to the toll booth before the Bay Bridge.

It was straight into the car this morning, breakfast from the deli at Tenaya Lodge eaten on the road as we drove straight to Fresno for a 9:25am flight.
Surprise surprise, another early start for us! The shuttle buses in Yosemite National Park start running at 7am and we wanted to make sure we were on the first one, so as to make the most of the day.

The Restaurant at Meadowood recently earned the coveted three Michelin stars under the reins of chef Christopher Kostow. According to my research, Chef Kostow is one of only a handful of American-born chefs, and third youngest chef ever to receive three Michelin stars (he wasn’t even 30).
Happy Birthday to J! One of the reasons we were travelling when we did was to celebrate J’s birthday and while we celebrated all throughout our road trip, today was the actual day.
Oenotri is an Italian restaurant in Napa, and another place that J has dined at in the past.
