We set off for San Francisco mid-morning so as to avoid the rush hour traffic. This plan worked well, until we got to the toll booth before the Bay Bridge.

On landing and disembarking half an hour late at LAX after the long flight, everyone who had a connecting flight was given their boarding pass in a bright orange express pass holder, and once in the immigration hall, directed to the so called express lane.

It was straight into the car this morning, breakfast from the deli at Tenaya Lodge eaten on the road as we drove straight to Fresno for a 9:25am flight.

Surprise surprise, another early start for us! The shuttle buses in Yosemite National Park start running at 7am and we wanted to make sure we were on the first one, so as to make the most of the day.

The Restaurant at Meadowood recently earned the coveted three Michelin stars under the reins of chef Christopher Kostow. According to my research, Chef Kostow is one of only a handful of American-born chefs, and third youngest chef ever to receive three Michelin stars (he wasn’t even 30).
